Artist Dan Corson has currently put in Nebulous, a brand recent kinetic sculpture that hangs within the plaza out of doorways the Amazon.com locations of work in Seattle, Washington.
When describing his piece, Dan mentions,
Seattle is famous for its inclement weather and history of computer innovation. The climate is changing, each environmentally and technologically. We’re currently shifting from our analog “laborious copy” world and native computer storage to “cloud-based solely” programs. The intricacy of these programs eludes most utility customers and but clouds of radio waves consistently transport tons of recordsdata all the plot thru us.
The two spacious pixelated cloud forms, impressed by this evolution in abilities, drift over the Amazon plaza with two photo voltaic lighting “shadows” imbedded within the pavement under. Neither fully transparent nor fully opaque, these “low res” clouds occupy purchase glass discs that shift between ranges of opacity in a digital dance comparable to dilapidated faculty calculating computers or most likely pulsing lightning within clouds on a stormy night.
